Why the Bible
is FALSE...
It is no secret that Bible is correct about a handful of topics and historically accurate in select cases but as noted to the right the Bible also makes many false and counterfactual claims. Having some truth only separates fiction from pure-fiction but does not make a book true. A book is only to be considered non-fiction if all of it, or at very least most of it, is true. That is why the Bible is in fact a work of fiction and why it should only be viewed as inspirational literature on par with Homer's The Iliad and Odyssey.
Contradictions
The Bible makes many contradictions both big and small. There are disagreements over numbers, God's word, Jesus Christ's life, and key details of various stories.

More
Wrong About Nature
The Bible makes several false claims about nature which "coincidentally" are the same false beliefs man had about nature where and when the Bible was written.

More
False Historical Claims
The Bible has several lesser known yet major historical false claims and even places Jesus' birth during two separate historical events that are over 10 years apart.

Failed Prophecies
Much like with Nostradamus people only look at the vague prophecies of the Bible that can be applied to occurred events and over look the detailed prophecies that have all failed.

Below are a few claims that church leaders and apologists cite to make you think the Bible is true and must have been divinely inspired. At face value they do seem convincing but once you do a little bit of research none of them hold up.
  • Historically accurate
FALSE. The Bible makes a great deal of historical claims and a great deal of them are incredibly inaccurate. The creation story is false, the great flood never happened, and there were many languages prior to the tower of Babel. The story of the Plagues of Egypt never happened and the Babylonian exile lasted 48 years, not 70. The walls of Jericho were not destroyed by Joshua and the city was abandoned long before the Bible says Joshua was there. The Bible is also wrong about Belshazzar, Darius the Median, Vashti, and Jareb.

  • Scientifically accurate
FALSE. The Bible is comically wrong about the sky and what causes rain. The Bible is very inaccurate in its claims about the moon, the earth's orbit, the shape of the earth, cows, and slug slime. The Bible's inaccurate claims of the earth's and universe's age goes against everything that we know about chemistry, physics, geology, biology, and astronomy which are the basis of all modern technology. The Bible's story of creation contradicts what over 99.85% of all related scientists say is a solid scientific fact and the tale of the Great Flood contradicts its fair share of modern knowledge too.

  • Contain no contradictions
FALSE. We are told how miraculous the Bible is because it was written by 40 or more different men over a period of 2,000 years yet it is clearly one book, with perfect unity and consistency throughout. First off the Bible contains a lot of contradictions. As for the fact that it tells stories which all connect together, that is of no significance since all the stories were written by people who lived in areas where the previous stories were well known and writings in the Bible were selected to be in the Bible partially because they sounded like they went together. There is a great deal of equally valid/invalid texts left out of the Bible.

  • Predicts the future
FALSE. The vast majority of so called "fulfilled prophecies" including all of the ones related to Jesus are predictions made by Old Testament scriptures that were only "fulfilled" in New Testament scriptures. The men who wrote the stories in the NT knew the stories in the OT and there is nothing special about their stories fulfilling claims from the earlier stories. The other prophecies are more vague than your average horoscope and could apply to a plethora of situations. Lastly, many prophecies in the Bible were not fulfilled making the Bible false.

  • Written in 3 different continents
Yes the Bible was written in three different continents but this does not suggest any divine intervention was required. If you take a closer look you will note that all of the Bible was written in the area around the Mediterranean sea were all three continents meet.

  • The Bible was written by at least 40 different authors who never met over a period of 1,600 years
It is believed that a rare few of the authors would have personally interacted but regardless, personal interaction was not need. Neither was divine intervention. All 40+ authors lived in areas where the previous stories were well circulated and well known. Some authors even had copies of writings from the other authors, much of Matthew is even copied word for word from Mark. None of the books in the Bible were written independently from the others with the obvious exception of the one which was written first.

  • The Bible is one book/story, yet it is made up of 66 books
The books all tell interwoven stories, not because of divine intervention, because they are based off of the same stories. Various collections of writings and stories of Greek Mythology also are interwoven in the same manner. Most importantly, the Bible is a collection of stories selected by man to be placed together in one book. Only a select few of the related scriptures where selected to be in the Bible. The ones that did not fit as well were left out.

  • The Bible was written in 3 different languages
    (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek)
Hebrew and Aramaic are both Northwest Semitic languages and were both well known in the area which the Old Testament scriptures were written. The New Testament scriptures were written in Greek but all the writers of the New Testament also knew Hebrew and Aramaic. All three languages were commonly know in the immediate area. So what is the big deal about books being written in the languages that the later authors speak and read?

  • The Bible says it is the word of God
The Qur'an also says it is the word of God, does that mean the Qur'an is true and the Bible is false?

  • The Bible is by eyewitnesses of supernatural miracles performed by Jesus
The gospels are not eyewitness accounts. Even if they were, eyewitness claims of supernatural miracles does not mean such events really occurred. Are magicians really doing magic since eyewitnesses saw them do magic? The Sai Baba, a religious figure and spiritual teacher of South India, is a real life modern miracle worker. There are 1,200 Sathya Sai Baba centers in 144 countries worldwide and well over a million people believe he is a living god born of a virgin. Firsthand accounts report claims that Sai Baba has walked on water, levitated, and materialized holy ash, rings, necklaces, and watches. Devotees consider this evidence of divinity. Point being, firsthand reports of miracles are quite common even in the 21st century but that doesn't mean they are true.

  • The Bible was written by at least 40 different authors, at the exact same time, all across the world, and completely independent from each other.
This is not true and it is something we just made up. But something like this is what we would see if there was any suggestion for divine intervention.
